Word Fall
Word Fall is a falling-letter word puzzle for English and Japanese practice. This page is for parents and guardians who need help with play, local scores, or the optional Game Center leaderboard.

Purchases
Word Fall is free to play and does not currently offer in-app purchases or subscriptions.
The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics.
Website, email, and optional Game Center links are available only in the gated Parent Zone.
Restore a purchase
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, not to your device. If you've changed phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, or set up a new device, restoring brings everything back at no extra cost.
- 1There are no Word Fall purchases to restore.
- 2Your language choice, settings, progress, and score records are saved locally on the device.
- 3If you delete the app, the locally saved score records are removed too.
Restoring only works while signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. If nothing comes back, check which account is signed in under Settings → your name, then try again.
Common questions
How do we change between English and Japanese?
Tap the language badge in the game header, or open Settings and choose Word Language. Switching language starts a fresh board. English words use letters; Japanese words use hiragana.
How do we move and rotate the falling piece?
Slide left or right to move it. Tap the board to rotate. Swipe up to swap the pair’s order, swipe down to place it quickly, and long-press to hold one pair for later. If touch gestures are difficult, turn on the on-screen control buttons in Settings.
Where are score records saved?
Best score and the most recent score records are stored only on the device. There is no Word Fall account and no cloud score service, so a new device or deleting the app starts fresh.
How does the Daily Challenge leaderboard work?
A parent can open Parent Zone, complete the grown-up check, and choose Open Daily Leaderboard. If the parent signs in to Apple Game Center, the final Daily Challenge score is sent to the leaderboard for the selected word language. The game itself and local score history work without Game Center.
Why is the game portrait-only on iPhone?
Portrait keeps the board, word tiles, and touch controls comfortably sized on an iPhone. iPad supports both portrait and landscape layouts.
If something goes wrong
- 1Close the app fully — swipe up from the bottom of the screen and flick the app away — then open it again.
- 2Restart the device. This clears up most graphics and audio problems on its own.
- 3Check the App Store for an update; we ship fixes there first.
- 4If the screen is black or the game won't start after an update, delete and reinstall. Purchases come back with Restore; stage progress is stored on the device and will be lost, so try the other steps first.
